1、A team of Italian horsemen is preparing to retrace the 8,700-mile journey between Venice and China made by Marco Polo in the 13th century

　　一支意大利马队准备沿着13世纪该国旅行家马可波罗的足迹，从威尼斯出发，经过8700英里的行程，最终到达中国北京。

2、The Prometheus mission will use seven horses, and for the first time ever they will not be changed en route

　　这只名为普罗米修斯的马队将挑选7匹体格健壮的马匹赴华且决定首次在整个行程中不更换马匹，这在该马队历史中尚属首次。

3、The expedition will use the hardy Maremmana breed, the modern type closest to that used by Marco Polo on his voyages to the court of Kublai Khan, the Mongol emperor

　　远征的马队挑选的是耐力好的马莱玛娜马。当年，马可波罗应元世祖忽必烈的邀请前来中国，他在途中使用的马就是马莱玛娜马的近亲。

4、So far only two horses have been found that vets believe will be capable of surviving the journey. They are currently in a training programme at a farm owned by the University of Perugia's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

　　到目前为止，兽医仅发现两匹马有能力完成此次远征。目前，它们正在佩鲁贾大学兽医系的农场里接受特训。

5、Camilla and Pegasus were bought for ?5,000 each after passing rigorous medical tests

6、The mission will set off from St Mark's Square in Venice later this year and aims to arrive in Beijing 15 months later
