Viewpoint media player is a generic malware program that installs itself with many other online programs, most prominantly AOL and AOL Instant Messenger. It installs itself without disclosing the fact that it is doing so. This program also dials home and sends usage statistics to a remote server. Not neccessarily adware or spyware, but it does not ask before it installs itself. Also self updating. 

A program designed to retrieve and install additional files, when run. Most will be configured to retrieve from a designated web or FTP site. Typical payload includes Spyware and Adware stub launchers.
