First antidote against all LovGate versions
BitDefender released a free removal tool for all versions of the widely spread
BitDefender, an award-winning provider of security software and services, today released a free removal tool for all versions of the widely spread LovGate worm. The advanced cutting-edge technology used for the antivirus research at the BitDefender Labs led the specialists to develop an antiviral tool, first in the world to remove all LovGate versions.
“Latest LovGate versions share the same functionality mechanisms and code as previous ones, but include many new features that can increase its file infector potential” stated Mihai Chiriac, BitDefender Virus Researcher. “The virus tries to infect files whenever executed in order to spread the infection. Although the infection technique is classic, the fast spreading of this worm in the wild has led us to develop a removal tool offering the possibility to completely disinfect files contaminated with any LovGate version” Mihai added.
The free removal tool is available in three international languages (English, Spanish and German) on the BitDefender websites.
